de mazenod family update

The De Mazenod Family Committee intended to produce several resources to encourage celebrating De Mazenod Week (21-28 May) as a community.  In light of current challenges, we are going to develop resources which may be used in a community setting if appropriate or by individuals online.  Over this period, the Oblate website will be updated regularly with possible resources such as reflection videos, reading material and live streaming of a Feast Day Mass and prayers if the restriction of gatherings continues.  We ask that you visit the website regularly and make sure you have subscribed to the De Mazenod Family Chat to receive updates and resources!

DE MAZENOD FAMILY LAY ASSOCIATION GUIDELINES

In November 2023, members of the De Mazenod Family in Australia came together to participate in the De Mazenod Family Gathering. During the gathering, we launched the “De Mazenod Family Lay Association Guidelines”.

This document was created as a guide to association with the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in the Australian Province. It was published for the growing and diverse community of those who associate with the Charism of St Eugene de Mazenod and/or the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. For those who seek to share the charism, live the spirituality and collaborate in the ministry.

Inspired by the charism of the Holy Spirit given to St Eugene de Mazenod, many have chosen to walk in the footsteps of the Apostles. While the various groups and levels differ in their mission, their belonging to the De Mazenod Family celebrates the unity shared in the common mission to evangelise the poor and most abandoned.

The ultimate goal for these guidelines is to outline the four opportunities to connect to the Lay Association of the De Mazenod Family in Australia.

This is the very beginning of our new De Mazenod Family Chat. This is going to be a new fortnightly publication that we will use to share a range of things with you, our De Mazenod Family. These could include, but are not limited to, important events that are happening in our communities, videos and articles to help us continue to deepen our understanding of our De Mazenod Charism and other snippets of important information along the way.
