Feast of St Eugene de Mazenod and Oblate Week

During the month of May, we celebrate the feast of our Founder, St Eugene de Mazenod on the 21st May, which then begins a week of prayers and celebrations across our Oblate communities. On the 29th May, we celebrate the feast of Blessed Joseph Gerard, the great missionary to Lesotho. These two days and the week in-between constitute the nine days we pray the Novena for Oblate Vocations.

These days will be great opportunities in your community to celebrate the life, mission and charism of St Eugene de Mazenod, which has inspired Oblate missionaries like Blessed Joseph Gerard and continues to inspire all of our Oblates and De Mazenod Family today.

Head on over to our De Mazenod Family website to download our Oblate Week Resource, which includes mass and liturgy resources for St Eugene’s feast, our May program based on the Beatitudes, resources for children, prayers and lots more. This resource can be found here:https://omi.com.au/oblate-week-resources

Additionally, we encourage all our Oblate communities to pray the novena for Oblate Vocations from the 21st to 29th May. Feel free to use these videos to help you pray along with the whole province and the world-wide congregation: https://youtube.com/playlist?ist=PL_JA9zmwQBBI2EDz3GNej2miD1hAjSyS2&si=R1WJmOtbAWq3WGZz
